POCO F9 Pro 5G brings a high-refresh AMOLED display, a stabilised telephoto camera and fast wired and wireless charging together in a 6.59-inch smartphone. This Global Version has 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage and is available in White or Aurora Green. Both colours share the same hardware. Aurora Green adds a luminous back cover that glows in the dark after exposure to light.

POCO F9 Pro 5G key features

• Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 V Series: A high-performance processor paired with 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB UFS 4.1 storage for gaming, multitasking and everyday apps.
• 6.59-inch AMOLED display: A 2510 × 1156 resolution, up to 185Hz refresh, Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support, and Gorilla Glass 7i.
• Three rear cameras: A 200MP main camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS), a stabilised 50MP telephoto camera and an 8MP ultra-wide camera.
• 32MP front camera: Take selfies, join video calls or record front-facing video at up to 4K at 30fps.
• 6,330mAh battery: Typical capacity, with up to 100W wired HyperCharge and 50W wireless HyperCharge using compatible charging equipment.
• Everyday essentials: IP68-rated dust and water resistance, an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint reader, NFC and Xiaomi HyperOS 3.

A smooth display for gaming and everyday use

The AMOLED panel gives you a sharp view of text, photos and video. Its high refresh rate can make scrolling and supported games look smoother. The maximum 185Hz setting depends on the app, game and display settings, so the refresh rate you see can vary. With 12GB of RAM and 256GB of built-in storage, this configuration gives you room for everyday apps, downloads and camera files. Usable storage is lower because the operating system and preinstalled apps take up space.

Use the right camera for the shot

Use the 200MP main camera for everyday photos, then switch to the 50MP telephoto camera for tighter framing. Its 60mm-equivalent focal length works well for portraits and subjects you want to frame more closely. The 8MP ultra-wide camera fits more into the shot for group photos, buildings or landscapes. The rear camera system records up to 4K at 60fps, and the front camera records up to 4K at 30fps.

White or Aurora Green?

White is the understated choice if you want a clean, light-coloured finish. Aurora Green has a light-activated back cover that can glow in the dark after exposure to daylight or indoor lighting. The strength and duration of the glow depend on how much light the cover receives and how dark the surroundings are. The glow feature is exclusive to Aurora Green.

Global Version compatibility and setup

POCO lists support for two physical nano-SIMs, one nano-SIM plus one eSIM, or two eSIMs. Check with your South African network provider if you plan to use eSIM or need a specific 5G service. Availability depends on your carrier, plan and coverage.

For fast charging, use compatible equipment. The phone supports up to 100W over USB-C and up to 50W with compatible wireless charging hardware. Wireless charging equipment is sold separately. Actual charging speed varies with the charger and conditions.
