Trendex Return & Refund Policy

Thank you for choosing Trendex Lifestyle. We strive to provide the best tech at the best prices. To maintain this, we operate under the following clear return and refund guidelines.

1. Warranty & Factory Faults (14-Day Guarantee)

We offer an extended 14-day return window for products with a manufacturing defect.

• DOA (Dead on Arrival) Policy: If your product is faulty upon arrival, Trendex will cover the return shipping costs, provided the fault is reported within 48 hours of delivery.

• Standard Faults: For faults reported after 48 hours but within the 14-day window, the customer is responsible for return shipping.

• Refurbished/Unboxed Items: For our pre-owned range, “cosmetic wear” consistent with the item’s assigned grade is not considered a factory fault. The guarantee covers internal hardware malfunctions only.

2. Account Removal & Data Privacy (Critical)

To be eligible for a return or exchange, all devices (Smartphones, Laptops, Tablets) must meet the following security requirements:

• Account Removal: You must sign out of and remove all personal accounts, including but not limited to iCloud, Google Accounts, and Samsung Accounts.

• Passcode/Lock Removal: All BIOS passwords, lock screen patterns, and pin codes must be deactivated.

• Factory Reset: Devices must be returned in a factory-reset state with all personal data erased.

• Failure to Comply: Trendex cannot process a return or refund for any device that remains “locked” to a user account, as the item cannot be resold or repaired.

3. Change of Mind Returns (7-Day Window)

If you are not satisfied with your purchase, you have 7 days from the date of receipt to request a return.

• Condition: Items must be in original, untampered packaging. If the original packaging is damaged, ripped, or missing, the return will be denied.

• Restocking Fee: A 3% restocking fee is applied to all non-faulty returns to cover non-refundable third-party processing costs.

• Shipping: Standard returns are made at your own expense and risk. We recommend using a trackable service like The Courier Guy.

4. Non-Returnable Items

The following items are strictly non-returnable:

• Hygiene Items: Earphones, headsets, or wearables that have been unsealed.

• Personalized Goods: Any items made to your specific requirements.

• Inseparable Items: Goods which, by their nature, are inseparably mixed with others after delivery.

5. Refund Process

Once your return is received at our Crown Mines warehouse and passes inspection, we will process your refund within 7 days.

• Standard Items: Refunded to your original payment method, minus the 3% restocking fee.

• Sale Items: Refunded via Store Credit to your Trendex Account Wallet.

Trendex Product Warranty Policy

Trendex Lifestyle PTY LTD (“Trendex”) warrants our products to be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. By purchasing from Trendex, you agree to the following warranty terms:

1. Warranty Period

• New Products: Unless otherwise stated on the product page, Trendex warrants parts and labor for six (6) months from the date of original purchase.

• Unboxed & Refurbished Products: These items are covered by a specialized 90-day hardware warranty (unless a longer period is specified). This covers internal hardware failure but excludes cosmetic wear and tear consistent with the product’s grade.

• Repairs/Replacements: Any product repaired or replaced under this warranty is covered for the remainder of the original warranty period or 30 days, whichever is greater.

2. Protection & Eligibility

This warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original purchaser. It is valid only for products purchased directly from the Trendex website (trendex.co.za) or our authorized storefront. Proof of purchase is strictly required for all warranty claims.

3. What is NOT Covered (Exclusions)

To the extent permitted by law, this warranty does not apply to:

• User Damage: Damage resulting from accidents, abuse, misuse, neglect, or improper installation (e.g., dropped phones or cracked screens).

• Environmental Damage: Exposure to moisture, liquid ingress, corrosive environments, or high-voltage surges (including lightning or load-shedding-related power spikes).

• Unauthorized Repairs: Any product opened, altered, or repaired by anyone other than Trendex or our authorized agents.

• Software & Data: Loss of data, software corruption, or issues caused by viruses, third-party apps, or operating system updates.

• Serial Numbers: Any product where the serial number or IMEI has been tampered with, removed, or obscured.

• Hygiene & Consumables: Normal battery degradation over time and hygiene-sensitive items (like unsealed earphones).

4. Service Procedure

If a product proves defective during the Warranty Period:

1. Notification: You must contact us via our Live Chat or Email ([email protected]) to initiate a claim.

2. Assessment: You are entitled to return the product for inspection. Trendex will, at its discretion, repair the item using new or reconditioned parts, or replace it with a new or refurbished model of equal or similar value.

3. Ownership: Any defective parts or products replaced under this warranty become the property of Trendex.

4. DOA (Dead on Arrival): As per our Refund Policy, faults reported within 48 hours of delivery qualify for Trendex-funded return shipping. For all other warranty claims, the customer is responsible for shipping the unit to our Crown Mines service center.
